Mary

Mary is 12 years old and belongs to the Ojibwe Nation. She lives in Ottawa with her mom, and her big dream is to be a pop star. She’s wanted to be in the spotlight since she was just a toddler and has been taking singing, drum and guitar lessons, and even writes her own songs. In her spare time, the fashion-loving Mary likes to co-ordinate new outfits, play soccer and read Archie comics.

Kiana

Kiana is 16 years old and hails from the Mohawk community of Kahnawake. The aspiring voice actor works part time in her mom’s hair salon, sweeping up or working the front desk. Kiana loves to travel and some of her favourite trips have been to California and Disney World. Kiana is a fan of conventions like Comic Con and Fan Expo, where she gets to meet actors from her favourite TV show The Walking Dead, and her voice idol Tara Strong.

Jaiden

Jaiden is Mohawk from Akwesasne. The ambitious 17-year-old dreams of becoming a Casting Director and would like to own her own agency one day. The senior in high school has some acting credits under her belt and will be heading to Syracuse University to study visual and performing arts. Jaiden is also an accomplished athlete, excelling in lacrosse and basketball.

Watewennenhawitha

Witha, as her friends call her for short, belongs to the Mohawk nation of Kahnawake. The 10-year-old dreams of one day becoming a movie star. She has been a member of Kahnawake’s community theatre for four years, and already scored roles in television, film, and a video game. The fluent Mohawk speaker also enjoys figure skating, for which she has won many medals. Some of her other hobbies include playing video games, reading, and spending time outside with her friends.

Kakwite:ne

Kakwite:ne is 12 years old and lives in the Mohawk community of Kahnawake. The aspiring writer/director loves making films with her friends. An animal-lover, Kakwite:ne has two dogs and two guinea pigs. When she’s not shooting a film, Kakwite:ne enjoys swimming, running, paddling, and being outside with her friends. She also has some hidden talents – she used to go to circus school and can juggle and ride a unicycle.

Meadow

Meadow is Mohawk from Kahnawake. The driven 13-year-old dreams of being a famous baker one day, complete with her own bake shop and television show, just like her idol renowned pastry chef Duff Goldman. She’s already on the right path, baking almost every day with her friends and family. Meadow learned all she knows about baking from her grandmother. When she’s not baking or at school, the former gymnast likes to spend time online, watch TV or do her nails.

Tonya-Leah

Tonya-Leah hails from Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve on Manitoulin Island, but now lives in Peterborough with her mom and younger brother. Tonya-Leah has always wanted to help people and dreams of one day becoming a dermatologist (a “skin doctor”). The musical 17-year-old plays guitar and piano, loves to sing, and is part of a drum circle. Tonya-Leah also loves horses and spends her spare time reading.

Raina

Raina is Ojibwe from Curve Lake First Nation, and now lives in Woodville with her mom, dad, and little sister. The 13-year-old loves acting and being a role model to younger kids, so it’s no surprise she wants to be a drama teacher when she grows up. Raina is an accomplished ballet dancer, teaching other students below her level. She also dances jazz and tap, sometimes with her sister, who Raina loves hanging out with.

Holden

Holden belongs to the Mohawk nation of Kahnawake. The 13-year-old dreams of making it to the National Hockey League (NHL) as a goalie, and would love to play for his favourite team, the Montreal Canadiens. Holden, who is a Carey Price fan, lives with his mom, dad, two brothers, baby sister, and their cat, Pikachu. When he’s not doing homework or playing hockey, Holden enjoys playing video games with his big brother.

Aliya

Aliya belongs to the Mohawk nation of Kanesatake and now lives in Kingston with her mom, stepdad, and little sister. The ambitious 14-year-old dreams of a career as a photographer. Aliya takes pictures whenever she can, often getting friends to participate in creative photo shoots. She also enjoys drawing and painting, and is learning how to play the guitar. Aliya is an accomplished athlete having competed in speed skating, and does track and field, volleyball, and field hockey.

Trey

Trey is from the Mohawk community of Kahnawake. The 10-year-old dreams of one day playing in either the National Lacrosse League (NLL) or Major League Lacrosse (MLL). He’s been playing lacrosse since he was 2 years old, and currently plays for the Kahnawake Warriors. Trey loves the game so much that he spends all his free time working on his skills. When he comes home from school, he does his homework and then heads outside to play in his yard.

Kawehnoke

Kawehnoke is from Kahnawake, a Mohawk community, where he lives with his parents, and younger brother and sister. The 12-year-old dreams of making it big as a comic book artist. Kawehnoke first became interested in comic books when he was two years old. His favourites are Spiderman and Batman, and he also loves reading regular books, stories of fantasy and adventure. In his spare time, Kawehnoke enjoys being outside with his friends, and helps his family take care of the garden and chickens they keep in the backyard.

Tekaronhianeken

Tekaronhianeken is from the Mohawk community, Kahnawake. He lives with his parents, and his older sister. The 13-year-old dreams of becoming a palaeontologist. Tekaronhianeken has been interested in dinosaurs since he was only 7 years old and his goal is to one day discover his own dinosaur. In his spare time, Tekaronhianeken enjoys learning about music and history and collecting Godzilla figurines.
